PJ BOND TO SUPPORT FRANK TURNER ON UK INSTORES AND ALBUM LAUNCH GIGS AUGUST 2015

Following a lengthy tour across Europe and the UK throughout all of June and July, PJ Bond can announce he will support Frank Turner on his short run of instores this August. PJ will also support Frank on his intimate Positive Songs For Negative People album launch gigs in London and Glasgow. Details below.

Frank spotted PJ at the Xtra Mile Recordings Summer In The City party back in July and immediately invited him on these shows. Full dates are:

06 Banquet instore, Kingston

11 Rise instore, Worcester

11 Rise instore, Bristol

12 Rough Trade, Nottingham

In May, PJ released his incredible album Where Were You?, a beautiful album covering topics that lace the modern musical lexicon — love, loss, friendship, family, and music. He has been compared to Elliott Smith, Micah P Hinson, and Wilco, while his new album reveals all the bombast and ambition of someone who has listened to a fair amount of Dylan or Springsteen, and dreamed. He's spent years travelling and playing to everyone he could, essentially homeless, while writing and recording songs and telling stories.

You can buy on CD from any of the shops above. It is also available on vinyl in four different colours — maroon, yellow, navy and mint green. The yellow and mint green versions are exclusive for the Xtra Mile Recordings shop, the latter featuring hand-painted artwork by PJ digitally printed for the sleeve. To purchase these exclusive vinyl or the album on CD and digital visit the Xtra Mile Recordings shop. All other vinyl colours are available at various participating retailers.

So, you've been lovely and clever enough to purchase the wonderful Xtra Mile Recordings Single Sessions vinyl box set and are enjoying the nine tracks from eight of our artists on four coloured slices of vinyl. Well done on being really good.

Well, this is the box set that keeps on giving. So you can also download 10 additional tracks - one from each of Xtra Mile's 10 years in action - for free!

XMR Single Sessions vinyl, all in a row. Look at the back of the sleeves for the code.

XMR Single Sessions vinyl, all in a row. Look at the back of the sleeves for the code.

To do this you'll need eyes, hands, a PC, an Xtra Mile Recordings digital shop account and the box set (or each of the four vinyl releases).

First, put the singles in order - from five to eight - then look for the numerical code hidden on the back of each vinyl sleeve. Put the digits together and you have your code. Next, go to www.xtramilerecordings.com and sign into your shop account (or register if you don't have one). Once inside, go straight to the checkout and input the number into the 'Promotional Code' box.

Once you've pressed 'Apply', you should get a confirmation screen and then you can download the songs, which are:

2004 - Million Dead 'I Gave My Eyes To Stevie Wonder'
2005 - Reuben 'Kick in the Mouth'
2006 - Dartz! 'Fantastic Apparatus'
2007 - Jonah Matranga 'Not About a Girl or a Place'
2008 - Frank Turner 'I Knew Prufrock Before He Was Famous' [live from Shepherd's Bush Empire]
2009 - The Xcerts 'Crisis In the Slow Lane'
2010 - Straight Lines 'Versus the Allegiance'
2011 - I Am The Avalanche 'Brooklyn Dodgers'
2012 - future of the left 'Robocop 4 - Fuck Off Robocop'
2013 - Ben Marwood 'These Are the Days When You Can't Go Home'

Not only are they all ace, but they detail the breadth and history of Xtra Mile in its short decade of operation. And again, they're free so go grab 'em.

If you don't have the box set yet, you can get it in your local independent record store, or over at our digital shop. Thank you for your support and love!

Beans On Toast is set to release a 10” 'Best Of Toast' limited to 300 hand-numbered and signed copies. Tracklisting is as follows:

He will also perform four times on the day. He has sets at all three branches of Rise and an evening gig at Clwb Ifor Bach. Times and locations are below:

The ever-luminescent Chris T-T will be playing a solo in-shop at Brill Records in Exmouth Market, Farringdon. You can see him serenading the masses at 3pm.

This year's Record Store Day is also very special as it marks the end of Xtra Mile's tenth year in operation. In celebration, the Xtra Mile Recordings Single Sessions box set has been packaged together and all good record shops will be able to stock this rare specimen for Record Store Day.

Those who purchase the box set from their favourite record shop will be eligible to enter a special competition to win two tickets to as many Xtra Mile headline shows as you can attend in one year! More information can be found on our Single Sessions and competition page.

The Xtra Mile Singles Sessions comprises 4 coloured 7” singles, with 9 tracks from Chris T-T & the Hoodrats, To Kill A King, Larry and His Flask, Beans On Toast, Jim Lockey and the Solemn Sun, Crazy Arm, Möngöl Hörde, and Jamie Lenman. It's a sequel to the original Xtra Mile Singles Sessions series which featured the likes of Reuben, Dartz! and Frank Turner's first official solo release.
