For a band that have often been described as acoustic or folk-rock, To Kill A King in fact deliver a far more dynamic, expansive sound, as evidenced on lead track Oh My Love, with hyperactive drums and buzzing guitars breaking into a massive chorus. Singer Ralph Pelleymounter’s voice is the band’s trump card – an intoxicating baritone that can soar as well as soothe.

"This EP is a departure from where we were but not where we are going to end up,” says Pelleymounter. “Call it a pit stop on the road to optimism, somewhere to pick up some snacks and petrol, maybe look at the local attractions, like a girl with a beard of bees or the worlds largest cigarette"

In support of the EP To Kill A King will play a one-off, intimate gig on Wednesday 22nd October at The Courtyard Theatre N1. Tickets on sale now from http://www.alt-tickets.co.uk/to-kill-a-king-tickets

Since forming in 2009, To Kill A King have never stopped touring, building up a considerable fanbase in the process. Their consistent gigging has involved several headline UK tours, each bigger than the last, with their most recent tour culminating in a sold-out London date at Koko. Earlier this year TKAK embarked on their first headline European Tour, before heading to North America where they were main support to regular touring buddies Bastille. They also performed at SXSW and supported Xtra Mile label mate Frank Turner in Arizona. Back in the UK, they joined Neil Young & Crazy Horse and The National at Hyde Park in July.
